Purpose:

The Great Lakes Ecological Assessment threatened and endangered species theme has been created for lands in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. The information allows us to elucidate relationships of rare elements with their physical environments; identify ecological needs and qualities and quantities of suitable habitats, define species' ranges, and rank degree of rarity, threat and conservation priorities for these rare species. This, in turn, facilitates more comprehensive access to information and analysis results for land management planning, decision making, and land management applications
