This map portrays the number of known rare plant species by Landtype Association (LTA). Species included are those considered to be rare or declining on a state or global basis. Map is based on data from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Natural Heritage Inventory (WNHI). The WHNI data are not based on a comprehensive inventory, and lack of data should not be construed to mean that no rare species are present. Color categories represent natural breaks in the data. Source data is confidential and exempt from state open records law. Data is current as of March, 1998. |
