Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license agreements for hydroelectric dams are scheduled for review and possible renewal on 40-year intervals. Many of these dams are presently in the process of being relicensed. The USDA-Forest Service is among resource management agencies that may request changes in streamflow timing, water levels, fish passage, restoration, or other licensing conditions that help achieve management goals. Maps that show locations of dams and watersheds are being used to help determine which dams affect National Forests and are a high priority for detailed review and analysis. Data on dam locations and watershed boundaries are from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources |
