Poster Advice Evaluation Form IALE 2004 Info

Dear student,

Please provide the following information and then press the submit button (located at the bottom of this page).  Once you have done this then we will arrange to have your presentation or poster evaluated.  Don't forget to examine the advice web page and evaluation form as you prepare for the meeting.

The student competition has been changed to make it more efficient and fairer this year. These changes include new restrictions on student eligibility that should reduce the number of student participants to a manageable number. The other change is that feedback from judges to students on their presentations for the competition will no longer be provided. Instead, a program has been established by Jennifer Fraterrigo (IALE Student Rep) that is designed to provide a formal structure for students to seek feedback from scientists on their presentation independent of the competitive program. Students who indicated they were interested in receiving feed back when they submitted their abstracts will be enrolled in this program. Those students should look for comments from evaluators following the meeting.

The other changes to the student competition program are new requirements for eligibility. These new rules were instituted in an effort to restrict the student participants so that only students presenting very competitive papers participate. The restriction is necessary so that we can maintain a fair ratio of judges to students and thus an impartial assessment of the best presentation. The new restrictions are as follows. Only students who are registered members of IALE can participate. Only students who are currently enrolled in a degree program can participate. Only students presenting complete studies and not preliminary results can participate. Students can only participate in the contest one time during the course of their degree program. Finally, note that papers presented by students with coauthors are welcome as long as the presentation (talk or poster) is done by the student and the work was principally theirs. For more details on these changes, please refer to the section on changes to the student competition found at the following URL (http://www.ncrs.fs.fed.us/4153/iale/eligibilty.html) .

Please select three disciplines that best match the topic of your presentation or poster.  Then enter the number "1" in the box next to the category that best describes the topic of your presentation or poster.  Likewise, enter "2" and "3" next to the second and third most relevant topics.  Note this server will only transfer information on boxes scored as integer values of one, two, and three.  Do not try to list tied values or more choices. We have also provided an "other" category in case there is a crucial topic area, which we have omitted from this list.  If you wish to select the "other" option, you must rank it as any other category in your list and then email me with a description of this category. Note that the text of the word "other" is hot linked to my email account.
